In order to publish our components' electrical and physical specifications, Coilcraft regularly performs complete sets of tests in accordance with established standards and specifications, or specific tests targeted at reliability, repeatability and/or compliance.
Coilcraft can accommodate testing and screening to many MIL-STDs, MIL-PRFs, other industry standards (e.g., AEC-Q200), and custom flows. We can also perform custom screening and qualification that may be modified from an existing Coilcraft document or implement custom screening or qualification from the ground up. Whatever the requirements, Coilcraft can adapt to your needs...not the other way around.
The screening codes shown on datasheets indicate the screening level as shown in the table below:
Screening Code |

Screening performed to the document's latest revision. |
Legacy Screening |
CP-SA-10003/4/5 [N, M, or K screening code based on SLDC requirements] are legacy test flows that are based on MIL-STD-981 (screening and optional qualification) for their respective component types. Coilcraft will maintain these test flows indefinitely, but for new programs customers should use the direct callouts listed above. |
CP-SA-10006/7/8 [J, E, or B screening code based on SLDC requirements] are legacy test flows that are based on EEE-INST-002 (also with screening and optional qualification) for their respective component types. Coilcraft will maintain these test flows indefinitely, but for new programs customers should use the direct callouts listed above. |
T and U Screening flows are based on MIL-STD-981 (class S or B) and EEE-INST-002 (level 1, 2, or 3) (screening and optional qualification) respectively. These legacy suffixes have been replaced with the 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to define the level/class of screening with the suffix. Coilcraft will continue to support components ordered with these suffixes. |
Option A * | Components are manufactured in one continuous manufacturing run. |
Option B † | Components are manufactured in one continuous manufacturing run and all raw materials shall be from a single batch. |
* | Lot shall be processed through all of the manufacturing steps on the same equipment without change to the original setup. |
† | Lot shall be processed through all of the manufacturing steps on the same equipment without change to the original setup. Each raw material used in the construction of the component shall be from a single batch of material. |
